Stanford — Daniel Pearl World Music Days Concert

  • Memorial Church Stanford, CA (map)

Stanford musicians, including members of the SLSQ, curate this annual free concert honoring the life and memory of alumnus Daniel Pearl, the violin-playing Wall Street Journal reporter who was murdered in 2002 in Pakistan.

The concert will feature the premiere of Jonathan Berger’s Death by Drowning performed by violinist-collaborators MoVE, as well as the poignant and intense Duo (1925) for Violin and Cello by Erwin Schulhoff, performed by Owen Dalby and Christopher Costanza of the St. Lawrence String Quartet. Other works and performers to include Talisman, a featured work by a Stanford student composer, and a world music performance by Stanford students.
