St. Lawrence String Quartet announces new second violinist:
Owen Dalby to join SLSQ in June 2015

STANFORD, CA - New York-based violinist Owen Dalby has been named as the new second violinist with the St. Lawrence String Quartet (SLSQ). He will join the group in June, 2015. Mr. Dalby, a graduate of Yale University, is an acclaimed soloist and chamber musician. As a native of Berkeley, California, his relocation will be as much a homecoming as a new beginning. “I’ve always considered string quartet playing as the pinnacle of what I could possibly do with my musical career,” Dalby explains, “so for me, this is the opportunity of a lifetime.”

SLSQ Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Throughout the 2014-2015 season, the St. Lawrence String Quartet will be celebrating its 25th anniversary season! Celebratory events include: world premieres of three quartets composed for the SLSQ, by John Adams (his third work for the SLSQ), Jonthan Berger (his 6th string quartet), and Jaroslaw Kapuscinski; three concerts at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC (performed on the Library of Congress's famed set of Stradivarius instruments); musical collaborations with great SLSQ friends and colleagues; and other concerts and events throughout the season.  Check the full SLSQ schedule for details.

SLSQ's Anniversary Commissioning Project: Marcus Goddard's "Allaqi" wins prestigious award

Marcus Goddard's "Allaqi," a vivid and imaginative quartet written for the St. Lawrence String Quartet as part of its 20th Anniversary Commissioning Project, was recently honored with the 2011 BreakOut West's Western Canada Music Award for Outstanding Classical Composition.  Congratulations, Marcus!
