2012 St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar at Stanford announced

The. St. Lawrence String Quartet Chamber Music Seminar at Stanford will
take place from Friday, June 22 to Sunday, July 1st at Stanford University.
This year's seminar will feature the following guest artists and
faculty: The Gryphon Trio, Douglas McNabney (viola), Pedja Muzijevic
(piano), and Sebastian Ruth (founder and artistic director of Community
MusicWorks and 2010 MacArthur fellow), as well as the members of the St.
Lawrence String Quartet.

SLSQ's Anniversary Commissioning Project: Marcus Goddard's "Allaqi" wins prestigious award

Marcus Goddard's "Allaqi," a vivid and imaginative quartet written for the St. Lawrence String Quartet as part of its 20th Anniversary Commissioning Project, was recently honored with the 2011 BreakOut West's Western Canada Music Award for Outstanding Classical Composition.  Congratulations, Marcus!

Nonesuch to release SLSQ's recording of the John Adams String Quartet!

Nonesuch Records will be releasing the SLSQ's new recording of the John Adams String Quartet on May 31st. John Adams composed the piece for the SLSQ in 2008, and this is the World Premiere recording of the piece. Click here for the Nonesuch press release, posted April 6, 2011.

A 10-day intensive seminar for advanced students (over 18 years of age) and adult amateurs with the Grammy-nominated St. Lawrence String Quartet and Special Guest Faculty.

Off to Europe!!

And we're off...to Europe!  Our first tour of 2011, and it's to lands far away and exotic.  We'll be playing in Finland, Estonia, Belgium, and Italy over the course of 2 weeks.  

St. Lawrence String Quartet "Emerging String Quartet Program" at Stanford

The St. Lawrence String Quartet's Emerging String Quartet Program has bought to Stanford the Afiara String Quartet, the graduate string quartet in residence at the Julliard School, as well as the Tokai String Quartet and others.  The program continues - more info to follow!
